It's hard to get red right! After a bit of playing around we're pretty happy with this combination of red and black. It's pretty opaque but to be safe you can back paint it red or black after drilling.
Slim Blanks measure about .6" x 5" and are suitable for slimlines and pretty much any pen around .5" finished diameter. Drilling on the lathe is your best bet to ensure you maximize the diameter.
